Halter
In hand showing of a horse
Breeding stock suitability
Halter is a type of horse show class where horses are shown "in hand", meaning that they are led, not ridden, and are judged on their conformation and suitability as breeding stock. Depending on breed and geographic region, such events may be called "Halter," "In-Hand," "Breeding," "Model," or "Conformation" classes.

Horse characteristics
The halter class is a pure breeding show for horses, where they are judged by their external appearance when standing and in movement. There are therefore no specific character traits involved in this sort of competition. However, they only feature Western horses (Quarter).
Horses behaviour
As a result of their genetic makeup, these horses are as a rule well belanced and easy to shoe.
