The Delta hoof boots are offering excellent all-terrain hoof protection. They provide comfort for horses with sensitive soles, or for rehabilitation from hoof injuries. The Delta Hoof Boot can also add protection and extra traction for the shod horse.

There are many different types of hoof pads available and if your horse has a problem that will be helped by fitting a pad between the hoof and the shoe. For protection and/or shock absorption it is essential that the pads are made of a strong material that will not crush under the weight of the horse, causing shoes to loosen and clenches to rise. Equally it makes sense to use pads that can be used for more than one shoeing.
Mustad pads are made of pure polyurethane that not only provides superb protection against sharp objects, but also has the correct balance between durability and shock absorption. Hoof pads can be benefical for horses suffering from navicular, concussive injuries or sensitivity in the hoof and legs, as well as protecting soft dropped soles from pain and bruising.

Many horses show no apparent discomfort or adverse effects from conventionally nailed shoes. However, there are those horses who no matter how good the farrier, will consistently go lame after being shod. Equally there are those with horn which is incapable of holding nails, so a lost shoe usually results in the hoof breaking up, making subsequent nailing almost impossible and certainly no solution to the problem.
This led Mustad Hoofcare to research and develop a range of glue on shoes, each adapted to specific purposes, to be used in place of a conventional shoe.
